He was born in Antalya in 1968 and completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Antalya (graduating first in Antalya Elektrik Teknik High School). In 1993, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Hacettepe University. He completed his specialization training in the Department of Pediatrics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1999, and during 1998-1999, he served as the chief assistant at the İhsan Doğramacı Children's Hospital. In 2002, he completed his sub-specialization training in the Pediatric Cardiology Division of the Department of Pediatrics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. He became an associate professor in 2005 and a professor in 2011.
Between 2010 and 2011, he served as the Deputy Chief Physician at Hacettepe University İhsan Doğramacı Children's Hospital. He has been involved in the management of the Turkish Pediatric Cardiology Society and has served as the scientific secretary.
He has approximately 150 scientific publications, most of which are published in international journals. He has given over 50 talks at national and international conferences related to his field.
He currently serves as the Head of the Pediatric Cardiology Division at Hacettepe University and the President of the Association of Adult Congenital Heart Diseases.
